Sandra and I actually went to the theater for this one – despite the fact that our two tickets cost as much as a full month of Netflix(!). But, we wanted to go out, and this choice turned out to be a good one. We thought it was great! Benedict Cumberbatch did a fantastic job acting the part of Alan Turing, someone I have certainly heard of, having studied computer science in school. I’m sure the movie dramatized actual events, but they did a great job of it, it was exciting and engaging all the way through. At first I didn’t like that Kiera Knightley was in it, but she did a great job and was believable in her part.
I was trying to think of a non-action movie that has been so engaging, and Sandra suggested “A Beautiful Mind”, and it seems these two movies have a lot in common. I wish they had explained how his machine worked, and I wonder if that’s what the real machine actually looked like. What a great movie this was …
