Don’t Stop Believin': Everyman’s Journey

Netflix streaming – they actually rated it at 5.0 for me – I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen that – no way could I not watch it … 4.2 stars for the general audience. It’s kind of a cross between “History of the Eagles” and “Slumdog Millionaire”, both of which I gave 5 stars. Remember the band Journey from the 70’s? Well …

movie poster… they needed a new singer, [SPOILERS]so they started searching YouTube, looking at Journey tribute bands and “male rock singers”, eventually stumbling across YouTube videos of a kid in the Phillipines, posted by a friend of his. He was incredible, singing the hits of Journey, Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, etc. like the original singers. They invited him to the U.S. and it all worked out, ending up with them making him a full member of the band,  taking him on tour, including to a concert in Manila. You’ll have to see him to believe how great he is, and not just his voice, but his manner and humility, and how grateful he is for the fantastic opportunity that he was given. The story of his childhood is very touching, and it takes the documentary up a notch – I’m giving it five stars, as predicted.
